A premier NAFTA transportation provider, Tri-National, Inc. provides flawless shipping and logistics services to trading partners in Mexico, the United States, and Canada. Active in the professional community, Tri-National, Inc. belongs to the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA).
Recently, TCA, an organization that represents a wide range of carriers, joined with FreightWaves to create Truckload Indexes. This unique microsite will collect and contain data, opportunities, challenges, and stories from within the trucking industry. In doing so, this information will give the public a snapshot of the industry and make it easier for trucking professionals to track market-specific changes. To create this new site, TCA will join its Profitability Program (TPP) Best Practice and 20 Index data groups with FreightWaves’ SONAR platform, a dashboard tool that contains multiple freight market data points. The SONAR platform will be capable of plotting TPP 20 Index data from the top performing trucking companies in the TPP program. At the same time, it will provide users with snapshots of current economic data, thus allowing them to compare their operational and financial performance to others within the industry. Prior to this partnership between TCA and FreightWaves, this set of data was never available to the public. It will serve as the most powerful set of indices in the industry and will help carriers of different sizes benchmark their performance against some of the industry’s best-in-class operators.

Missouri-based transportation provider Tri-National, Inc., offers a wide range of services to trading affiliates in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Due to its involvement in international trade, Tri-National, Inc., belongs to the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT). Established in 2001, CTPAT is part of the strategy of the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to improve border security while strengthening international supply chains. Entities that join the program agree to identify security gaps and implement supply-chain best practices. In return, they are considered low-risk and are less likely to undergo examinations when they cross any US port of entry. Joining CTPAT is voluntary and at no cost to applicants. Companies can apply to become a partner online. To start the process, they must meet the program’s minimum security criteria for their type of business. When a company is eligible, it submits a basic application online and commits to participate in CTPAT. Companies are subsequently tasked with completing a supply-chain security profile that explains how they meet the minimum qualifications. A CTPAT supply-chain security specialist reviews all submitted information and provides ongoing guidance. Applications are approved or rejected within 90 days of the time a specialist is assigned. Tri-National, Inc., is a transportation company that facilitates trade among North American countries. Committed to giving back, Tri-National, Inc., supports the American Diabetes Association (ADA).
Part of ADA’s mission is to improve the lives of people with diabetes. To this end, the organization recently launched a campaign to bring down the price of insulin through concerted efforts by all industry players. Millions of people in the United States live with diabetes. Sadly, the cost of insulin has been steadily rising, putting the life-saving drug out of reach for many. In 2017, ADA established an Insulin Access and Affordability Working Group to look into the problem and recommend long-term solutions. Throughout 2017 and 2018, the Working Group undertook a series of meetings with stakeholders along the insulin supply chain, from manufacturers to distributors, pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), pharmacies, health plans, and caregivers. Some of the problems the Working Group noted were: - a rebate system that encouraged high pricing, - lack of transparency throughout the supply chain, - substantial market power in the hands of PBMs, - burdensome regulations for biosimilar insulin development and approval, and - adverse medical care ramifications for insulin formulary decisions. The Working Group then recommended several steps to reduce the price of insulin for patients, including cost-sharing for insured patients and a rebate system that promotes lower insulin prices |
